Pacific Banner Riding Club

Pacific Banner Riding Club is located on NO.3 Rd. in Richmond, B.C., and is a tranquil place near the bustling city of Vancouver. The club was transferred from a Canadian professional rider, carrying his lifetime glory as a horseman. PBRC has embraced the mission of transmitting equestrian culture and spreading the spirit of chivalry. It has trained thousands of horse riders and raised hundreds of horses since it was established in 2006. It covers an area of about 45,000 square feet. We have two professional off-site and on-site riding areas, free-range areas, stables that comply strictly with international requirements, horse hospitals and saddlery rooms. We have hundreds of horses of different ages and levels. All horses are carefully cared for and rigorously trained to meet the various needs of different types of customers, such as teaching, training, and competitions. The services PBRC provides including horse rental, horse training and private horse management, among others. With its unique location, world-class facilities and traditional English equestrian teaching methods, Pacific Banner Riding Club have become the choice par excellence for equestrian enthusiasts.

Alyssa Bigiolli

Alyssa started riding when she was 12 years old and quickly fell in love with horses. Alyssa completed her Equine Canada Instructor certification and CanTRA Basic Instructor certification. Before joining Pacific Banner Stables, Alyssa was the Program Manager at the Richmond Therapeutic Riding after Association is experienced in teaching riders of all abilities and training horses for Therapeutic Riding. Alyssa enjoys teaching riding and horsemanship to riders of all levels and ages and is excited to be teaching at Pacific Banner Stables.

Jessica York

Jessica has had a love of horses for as long as she can remember, and has been riding steadily since the age of 6. At age 14, Jessica acquired a talented 4-year-old Dutch Warmblood, Paris Consul. She trained her horse through the levels up to intermediate, winning numerous provincial and national championships, including the BC Summer Games, and BC and Alberta Provincial Championships. Jessica continues to ride and train horses with some of the best instructors and clinicians in the world. She recently spent one month in The Netherlands at the farm of Olympic Team coach Bert Rutten, learning and riding. She is currently training a 6-year-old Dressage prospect, Ricochet, at Blue Heron Farms in Ladner.

Catherine Winter

Catherine is a fully certified coach with Equine Canada and has worked with Australian Olympic riders for years. She has 23 years of horse experience. She has trained horses from inexperienced up to being highly competitive performance horses in Dressage, Eventing, Show Jumping and Showing at Royal level. Her horses competed up to Medium level EA (Equestrian Australia) Dressage and trained up to Advanced level (equivalent to Equine Canada levels 3 & 4). Her last horse represented Australia at the Beijing Paralympics. She has also been a working student and assistant trainer for Marcie Doyle of Dressage Vision since 2015. Having taken part in different equestrian disciplines in the past, Catherine now specializes in Dressage and enjoys helping her students to achieve their various riding goals whilst enjoying their time with the horses.

Ariel Sutherland

Ariel started riding in Nova Scotia at the age of seven and progressed to owning her horse and competing extensively in the Eventing and Jumper disciplines. Growing up training with Susan Fraser, Ariel completed her B2 level in Pony Club. She became an Equestrian Canada Certified Instructor while finishing her Bachelor of Management Degree at Dalhousie University and riding for the Dalhousie Equestrian Team. Ariel specializes in Eventing and the Hunter/Jumper discipline. Ariel now coaches riders of all levels in Downtown Vancouver’s corporate world. Ariel loves horses and people, and in her 23 years of equestrian experience, her favourite part is seeing her students succeed.

Marcie Doyle

Marcie manages the barn as well as specializes in dressage training for both horse and rider. She has trained several horses from youngsters all the way up to showing successfully at the international Grand Prix level. She also breeds to produce upper-level sport horses destined for the show ring. Marcie is truly passionate about creating happy, well-trained horses and riders, and thrives on seeing the progress in her students.

Janelle Mitchell

Janelle is a Canadian senior certified coach. With more than ten years of experience as a rider, she specializes in show jumping and dressage. In 2012, she went to Saskatchewan to study about facilitating EAL (Equine Assisted Learning). She started her coaching career in 2013 and worked at Maynard Pony Meadows. Since 2015, she has been the head coach of the Pacific Banner Riding Club and teaching show jumping and dressage.
